It's what Putin does. Actually Wynne pretty well sings from the same song book really except for the guns part. She doesn't like guns.

I don't think the brain that Trudeau has is in the head he has on his shoulders.

Good article in yesterdays post.
People continually underestimate Putin. This is not the first time he has made the west (Obama) look like fools. God help us if JT or AT win.
IMO this is bang on, somebody has to find the stones to step up. No matter how it's sliced or diced the situation in Syria is one we created, and one we, especially the left leaning here in Canada have turned their backs on. For all the bellyaching and hang wringing by Liberals about Harper and the refugees, Um perhaps if you (those who don't and didn't have the stomach) had found some back bone and conviction to do the right thing to begin with….the situation wouldn't be so bad and now you want to turn your backs on it, having created it?
And if nothing else, now Putin steps in.Im sure he isn't doing it solely out of the good of his heart. He's played Obama like a fiddle here (as one friend said), made us look like fools and could in the end "win big".
Exactly, call a spade a spade.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who was against the air missions, or is against more efforts (boots on the ground) now.

That's the thing. You need to be cold and strategic to run a country in these times. Ruling "from the heart outwards" like JT wants to will get you run over quickly. I don't care if the PM isn't photogenic or charismatic. I want him/her to run the country safely and prudently. Can anybody name the CEO of GM or Ford or Hewlett Packard without Googling it? JT would be totally ineffective on a world stage.

I actually read the entire translated speech from V.Putin on UN General Assembly, it is as always concrete and dead on. In terms of speaking of leadership, oligarchy or not. You want a man like V.Putin because he will be in your corner and not back out like Obama did to the Middle East which left a mess, a big one too. V.Putin is a no-tolerance nonsense man; considering he was a former Lieutenant-Colonel in KGB; a man of intelligence and command; a trait you want in a leader.
and I said to myself, God forbid if JT wins, because Putin will make him his bit** for sure.

This election is a mind bender for sure. The Libranos and Dippers have openly admitted they will take down Harper unless he gets a majority. I really can't see Harper pulling one off but we can only hope and pray. Anyway, I wonder if Mulcair will in fact want to be second Banana in a coalition if JT wins more seats? The NDP has been losing ground for days now, they look like they peaked too early and might even get booted back to their historic 3rd place. The ultimate hypocrisy though will be the losers saying Harper has no legitimate mandate without a majority yet they will gladly take over parliament without one themselves. In fact they would do it with less seats from the general election. I wonder if Angry Tom and pretty boy would refuse the win if they won without a majority because you know.....a minority isn't a legitimate win right?

I don't understand the people that are swinging towards JT and Tom. They are not presenting a business agenda, you need to run this country with a sense of business when there is a global economic turmoil. Do people honestly think that the 'socialist' concept will get them out of any financial trouble? Look at the financial disasters of Provincial Liberal in Ontario on the past decade; were still lucky we the people of province have not yet burned down the Queen's Park.

I've said it before, you vote Liberal then you should pay for all their boondoggles. Why should we the non Liberal voter pay for these mistakes.

Mosquito, theres more to it than that, and it goes back further, we both know that. Whether we are 70% responsible, 30% responsible or somewhere in between, it's a mess of our making and now the talkers like Obama, JT and many on the left (the citizens whose votes they crave) are turning their backs, on a mess we created.
In some ways your analogy is good, but at the end of the day we helped make the mess and we don't want to clean it up. Im reminded of juvenile children who when things get tough point fingers at everyone else and certainly are to afraid to step up and clean up.
Putin, well now he's doing it and yes, he will make JT look even more naive, and stupid and eat him for breakfast (AT as well). He's already made the US (and Canada to a much lessor degree thanks to Harper) look like putz's.
