The right one is spruce hen.
Here's another one with a spruce c-o-c-k (damn site blocker). BTW, protected in most (all?) places other than Canada.

Fantastic looking dogs ... I had to put my small munsterlander down this summer after 16 years of hunting with her. They are great bird dogs and happiest when you can't see the smile for the feathers!
