Manitoulin Grouse/ Pheasant
Hello all,
I moved to Manitoulin island about 2 months ago, the fishing has been great. managed a ton of bass, a really nice 9LBS native rainbow trout. and have casted the fly rod at about a million salmon.
in the next few weeks i will be taking the shotgun out to the inlaws farm. have found a few areas that look good for grouse, and actually spotted a pheasant for the first time in my life a week ago.
I have a waterfowl and small game license as well so if i see a woodcock/duck/goose/Grouse they are all options.
tons of waterfowl in the area
anyone have any experience hunting on or around the island?
Thanks

I hunted a property on the island and got a couple grouse and quite a few woodcock. Interesting hunt. The guys who owned the property gave my dad and I lawn chairs and told us where to sit. Sure enough it was a common flyway because for the next few hours woodcock flew in a path just over our heads.
The island is very productive, have fun and good luck.

Keep your gun up with finger on the safety..
Use skeet choke with #8 shot. Point and snap shoot, don't aim.
