As far as tips , my strategies very pending on locations and how calm it is , wich will determine how well the call will carry . Two to three soft cow balls to start , never too loud to start as he might be close . I call every 15 to 20 mins, then I hit the horn if I get no response and turn up the volum .. I never call when winds are high , as this is not going to seem normal to a big bull and he will likely not respond and may move out .

I usually follow up ow up every second long ball with a short whinny call with lots of wave in it if you can , some times twice . I seldom grunt unless he answers and hangs up for a long period of time . When I get an answer I tend to stop calling unless he hangs up , then I get whinny again with the call and a ball or two , if he is comming and grunting just let him come , he will often stop a listen olongapo the way for short breaks and start up again .

The moose are beginning to move and on calm days can be easily called in at this point in the fall . Good luck guys .. Cheers

thank you good sir great tips....I am only a second yr moose hunter but love every minute of it....we usually go up on the friday before it opens and put out some blinds or stands and look for sign........is there any point in dropping out corn or apples in certain areas with lots of sign to try and draw them in or make em stay??????

I've never known of moose comming to anny sort of bait , you would likely draw in a bear with that sooner than a moose . Also remember just cause there is no tracks in an area does not mean he's not close . If he's not there today but there is sign of him being there in past means he could be there tomorow or drawn in from a distance by a good call . In an area with good feed and lots of cows they don't have to travel near as much , leaving less sign . All depends on the area and the ability of the caller , as well as where you set up other group members to intercept the incoming moose . It is not a good idea to call over each other tho , be miles apart if you have two callers .

I would like to hunt moose with my cross-bow some-day & need them to be inside of 50 yards... LOL
