well we just got back from a fly-in out of nakina, weather wise great , some wind first few days then 4 days of no wind. We figured things would end well. The plane had barely left and after unpacking we decided to scout and do a little fishing. We get back to camp and there is a 200 lb bear sitting on the cabin front porch. Well we tried to shoo it away but it kept coming back, so we had a tag and deposed of him,After that we hunted hard all week and never saw or heard anything. We were alittle disapointed but the fishing was great. when we flew back to base we had learned that only 4 moose had been brought back in in 2 weeks. And there were quite a few flights out of that base. The pilot said that the moose herd was not what it has been in a few years. So as the saying goes they call it hunting. Good luck to future groups.

Our group went north of Nakina last year. We no fresh sign and we only heard of 1 moose taken while we were there. Saw lots of bear baiting stations though(might explain why there was no moose) and apparently a monster black bear was taken in the area last fall.
