    Default Deer in WMU 30??

Headed up north for some grouse hunting and visiting family in a few weeks.

Due to the nature of being in a place that I do not know I thought I would like to have a pocket full of heavier loads as a just in case. I was thinking I would have to buy a bear license to carry this for but now I notice that there is a deer hunt going on starting Oct 10th. Since I have a valid deer hunting license I should be able to carry SG shot for my 16ga as a safety measure for my own peace of mind as I would be 100% legal due to the open deer season. I know though that it is open for deer, moose (adult) and bear all at the same time.

This was exactly me thought, I sort of wanted to toss some slugs and SG shot for my 16ga into the backpack or into the truck in case I run into a problem with a breakdown of either my body or my vehicle and get stuck in the bush for some reason.

Since there is an open season for deer in the WMU30 now and I have a valid deer hunting license I should be good to go.

I am actually surprised you have seen any deer up there.
