Tilbury & Area Bird hunting
Moving to Tilbury this fall. As I understand it, its a great waterfowl area. Anyone from the area? Any public lands for hunting? Any feedback/advice for area? Thanks in advance for any response!

Lake St.Clair has some great duck hunting. If you have a boat blind you can launch at a couple areas near Tilbury. Lighthouse cove is good. Lots of mallards and geese. Go to the east of the mouth of the Thames. Be careful not to go into Bradlys marked area. You can also launch in Stoney Point at the Sportsman's Club. Mainly divers but lots of them usually.
If you dont have a boat, like me, you can always walk out in your waders. You can go out from The Sportsman's Club or at the end of Gracie Side Rd which is Crystal Beach. Drop your gear off then park your vehicle on the 1st con. You'll see the dirt from everyone parking there for ice fishing season. This keeps the locals happy and lets others use the limited parking, two spots, at the beach for bird watching. St. Clair is shallow for a good distance out but watch out for logs and rocks you can't see. The bylaws state that west of Lighthouse Cove you have to be 200 yards from shore. If you go east of the Thames River you must be no further then 200 yards. Be careful near Lighthouse Cove. A few a**holes in the past few years have shot towards the houses so the people out that way aren't too pleased with us hunters.
I hope this helped. pm me if you need more info or someone to hunt with.
