X3 on the 3/4" conduit. I put a bolt through the pipe about a foot down. Then I drilled a hole so the button lock from the lucky pole can pop through and lock in place. Originally I didn't do that and on a windy day the Luckys would spin on the pole and face the wrong way.

EMT conduit. Original pole slides in nicely to fit in the car. Cotter pin to adjust length. Beauty.

Dollarama has telescopic painting poles now, hammer one end into a point, paint camo, they work great and are very long.

I used an old telescopic pole from a broken beach umbrella. Works great and it slides nicely together so you're not dealing with a long pole during transport.

Electrical tape and a hockey stick worked pretty good for me last year.

another vote for 3/4" emt, no holes or pins/bolt, just shove the lucky stake into the emt and should be good to go. flatten the end that's going to stick into the mud/ground.

Went and bought 3/4" EMT. It is a bit too big of a diameter so the original LD pole shakes a bit when inserted inside the EMT.So I'll be returning the EMT.
Also bought black broom handle...this one seems to fit best. Drilled a whole and works perfect with the original LD pin too. Will be trying it like that this season and see how it goes. The only thing is the broom handle is thin wall....hope it doesn't bend from the weight of the LD.
Cheers,

I think the broom handle may let you down. The first time you try to really drive that pole in the mud, it could easily break. I'd stick with the 3/4 EMT. I use a thick walled steel pipe. I can use it to pry stuff if I have too. The mojo doesn't have to be tight, its not going anywhere.
