Wesley's First Geese

Was able to get out this morning with Wes after a couple of not so successful evening hunts in the same field. We had a few flocks go over in the evenings but seemed to flare at the decoys so this morning we headed out and left the decoys in the Jeep. Good call.

We had geese coming in well as we were on the X in the field they wanted to be in. Helps having the field right across the road and in sight of our front window. We still had a few not commit, but we did manage to get a couple of birds to make the boys day.

Well, I had to get to the office and he had to get to school. In a lull, we took our birds and headed out.

As we were leaving the driveway he tells me to look at the field which was full of birds.

Maybe we'll get out again and soon....

I'll be in Renfrew for the week deer hunting. Breaking off a day to head to Quebec for a down hunt with GHB. And doing another locks duck hunt. If it works I'll take off at night stay at mom and dads and the blast down at crack of early with the trailer and dog and we can do a hunt in the morning. Would have to be a weekday though.
