Ran into a blinding snowstorm on my way to the game farm and had to turn around ! Grand Bend was bumber to bumber with cars ! Go figure! My place was sunny and clear but 10 minutes north of me snow was falling.

Moved a few woodcock at hullet today in the "snow storm" along with a couple pheasants. Still thinking they are local birds though.

Heading out this afternoon. It's -3 right now. High is only going to be 5. Should be a great day for a hunt

I was out today in the snow. Moved a few but couldn't get any shooting due to the snow in the trees. I only got one for one shot taken. They are definitely coming in now. This was North of London.

Well I can finally report that the dog has flushed some woodcock! He moved 2 this evening. I took a shot at the first but in my usual fashion I missed. He flushed the second one right after but my friend never even got a shot off. Wasn't expecting it as I wouldn't have thought it was typical woodcock cover. This was just northeast of Belleville. Really wish I could've knocked one down to really let the dog make the connection.

Got out this morning to a public bush and bumped three woodcock but one was most likely a re-flush. We didn't get any this morning, they seem to flush at the wrong time as soon as you bend down under a branch lol. This was with no dogs so maybe there was more around who knows?

All credit goes to my Lab. Three of those birds would never have been recovered if not for the dog.

Was surprised by the amount of snow up towards the lake yesterday. Was a good 8" in places, thought it was gonna be a bust but turned out to be lots of birds around. Unfortunately I'd expect a bunch headed for more hospitable locales with it clear and below freezing again last night.

The young lad did well, accounted of 6 of the birds with a little less than a box of shells

Incredible! And congratulations to the smiling shooter! You MUST share with us that recipe.
