Years ago , I used to collect ROAD-KILLS and hung them ~ 6' above ground (in a burlap-sack) . Those days we didn't have game-cameras ; so I don't know how long it took to lure them in . --- A week later (I hunted on week-ends BECAUSE I worked during the week) there were usually signs that POOH had been around and occasionally I got lucky . --- I generally hunted them in the spring (they were hungry enough to take just about anything) . --- In the fall I only popped them (during the deer- or moose-hunt) when they "accidently" came my way . They were included in the deer- or moose-license .

Set out some bait three nights ago, and did a honey burn to smell up the joint and advertise to the bears.

24hr later... nothing at the bait
48hr later... something small has been at the bait, likely raccoons, but I haven't checked the trail cam yet.

We'll check again tonight. Not looking promising. I think the bear I had hanging around earlier this year has moved on.

Just sit near my campsite the first night. My hanging food pack seems to be the best bait there is!

Most times but not always. If its rotting then they won't touch it unless they're starving.

You're pushing it pretty late now. Most bears have stopped hitting baits and will be going for a nap shortly.

Someone pointed out before. Go for a walk without a tag and a gun and your sure to see a bear.
