Can't beat a stanley. I have one that we ran over with the truck (don't ask) and it still keeps coffee hot. I fill it with HOT tapwater the night before, and I can sit out in -20 all day on the ice, and still have the last cup of HOT coffee for the drive home. Great thermos.

If you have a Stanley, don't throw it out. Call their 1-800 number amd they will send you a new one free.

We used to be able to replace liners, cups, caps for Thermos products. Now they are disposable....great for kids to loose at school.

the pre-heat is key to lasting heat in the thermos, rinse it with hot tap water and leave it till the coffee is done brewing. I have just a thermos brand and I like it. keeps stuff hot all day if pre-heated. it does make a lot of noise though..

these Stanley thermoses I hear a lot about.... are they stainless steel liner or glass?? have had some bad experiences with glass liners and hunting/fishing... and want a GOOD thermos for my next one. I use them all fall and winter.

noise is an issue. so at some point I tried a neoprene covered one. I think it was FA brand. What a garbage! Any metal bottle in an old sock is better - seriously!
I use an old 1 litre thermos (in backpack) right now. Not perfect, but okay.
As pre-warming has been already mentioned, the only other advise is to make sure you get the right size (volume and lid) for what you need.

I've noticed that on some the newer models you no longer need you to unscrew the lid...just open up a small spout....probably a good idea for the hot beverage, keep the heat in longer.

    Stanley.

You get what you pay for. Steel lined is the best and always preheat.
