Has too much time on their hands
Yes but people still need to be held accountable especially when it comes to the health and safety of the residence putting off renovation work that is needed to be current . Also keeping in mind the energy retrofit programs that can be taken advantage to upgrade the entire residence. Lets face it Hydro is not coming down and will continue to soar. Accountability at all levels of the decision making process when deferring work for 50 years in writing.

As others have noted, I don't think this is something to get up in arms about. If it needs the reno's, it needs reno's.

Who do you think wears the pants in the house.
The naïve fool who, while he has his dads charisma doesn't have his brains and who cant go a couple weeks without making a fool of himself, and whose greatest accomplishments in life is a short stint as a drama teacher or camp counselor?
Or this young lady who has accomplished quite a bit, has faced some adversity and prevailed?
Me, Im betting she wears the pants and more and will be looking after the home front. Privledged and spoiled? yep. But she also seems quite real with a decent head on her shoulder.

Between Sophie and Maggie, they seem to get the lads pants on right every am.
...or did anyone fail to notice that it's got to be the first time in Canadian Political History that a Prime Minister Elect has had his mother speak to the press on his behalf?

I think I have to agree with Maureen McTeer:
A one-time resident of 24 Sussex Drive says the prime minister's official residence is in such a state of disrepair that it should be torn down and replaced with a new structure that will make Canadians proud.
The $10-million repair bill does not include funds to improve the building's interior design, or beautify the home to make it the centrepiece of our country's collection of official residences, McTeer said.

Price tag is 10 to 150 million according to the story I listened to the other day.
Turn it into a museum and build a new facility.

I'm sure once pot is legalized and taxed the cost of the renovations will be a drop in the bucket with the millions of dollars of new pot tax coming in.

I really question the $10M. What reno could possibly cost that kind of money when a new residence could be built for half that amount. Somebody has been smokin' something, somewhere.
