How many of you boys shoot shotgun in a Treestand, I don't even own one but had heard misconceptions about legality of it and have since been straightened out by the heros behind the computer screens of a local Facebook group.

Thanks for your input in advance...

Some parts of Ontario, the control hunt is shotgun only. Michigan the same.

Ive never heard of that debate. I cant think of a logical reason as to why it would be illegal.

Anyways, like G Skinner said...totally legal
The deer are here, when I'm not near

I can't make sense of that.

One of the guys I hunt with uses SG exclusive with sabots. Like a laser.

Up until about 10 yrs ago you could not hunt from a elevated stand with a gun in Michigan but it has now changed so you can. I don't ever remember not being able to here in Ontario.

The source of where this all came from could very well have been an American from the Michigan area, friend of a friend blah blah but they are in the Windsor area and do have work in the states...

Im egumakated fairly well with the outdoors having grown up fishing and learning lessons from the old man who gave up hunting when I came along but still new to hunting myself, especially deer, and my hunting partner primary bow hunts deer so my contact with deer hunters with shotguns has been minimal.

Having never seen it on paper I thought I'd ask,

    Thanks again.
