I do the 1/2 and 1/2.....drive into the bush, park and walk the last .5 mile or so.
I hunt with guys that drive right up to the base of their stand and climb the ladder, can't argue, they have shot lots of deer doing it. One guys grins at me and says he doesn't want a deer to find his ATV and spook 1/2 mile away from where he's hunting..I guess he has a point
I use the atv. I park it about 50' away from my stand in a small thicket of cedar down over the edge of a small knoll. Unless the deer walk by it, they won't see it.
First yr dad has had to use quad to get to stand so will see. Had him park under the stand i really cant see the harm as the quad is back in the bush all the time. Myself i walk back as my trail is only 100 ft from back yard and another couple hundred ft further down the trail to my stand
image.jpgBuy a cheap camo netting & just lay over ATV , hold down with branches or bungee cord if windy . Works for me . This is what I use whatever I hunt out back on flat land .
