    Thumbup Neat sighting....

Saturday morning I came home around 9:45am to find out that my neighbor had a new pet (I live in town)....

It didn't worry about me or my dog and just wanted to take a nap at the base of that tree. I wondered what was it doing here until I looked up and saw 3 cubs. I could see all my neighbor had their dogs inside and mine stay far enough, she didn't seem to hurt anyone so far so I decided not to call the cops until 2 or 3pm (before Halloween) to give them a chance to leave in "peace". Few people went by in the street and she didn't care either so I called a buddy and enjoy the show with a few drinks for a couple of hours.

    And if you wonder.....

Long story short, they left ( GREAT video from my neighbor)....

Unfortunately, they were back to town a day and a half later and someone was not as friendly as I was..... Bad for hunters again, I hope he had good reason because his neighbor seems to have an issue with his decision but a judge will figure it out.

What's really pissing me off, the meat is going to waste!!!

Anyway, beside that I also saw a moose (young cow) on my way to work Friday morning:

And a doe, fawn and at least an 8 pointer (60 yards away) from my tree stand Friday evening but my xbow can't reach that far. Plus and extra 7 deer and a couple dozens of turkey on Sunday.

It's a busy time for wild life right now, something must be coming real soon.

Its a shame that bear went to waste but hopefully they can rehab the cubs and turn them loose next spring.

The sanctuary has already over 40 cubs, I would have never expected that.

And the story is all over the local news this morning.

Good, maybe people will realize these situations happen because bear populations need managed.
I find it funny that it had to be diposed of by somebody who took it upon himself to since nobody else was gonna do anything about it.

I don't personally consider this criminal (in the sense that i don't believe the man should serve time) but i do believe he should lose his guns and gun-rights, as well as losing his hunter/fishing/trapper rights... all of this is assuming of course that what was publicized is true.

A ton of bears get hit on the road leaving cubs behind and male bears will chase cubs away from females or just kill them to get her to come into heat .so ya that us a lot of cubs but I can see why.way to many bears pretty simple really. .Dutch

    City limits or not
There was a sow with Cubs that was clearly not afraid of man
It should have been shot much sooner.
As stated before. They need to manage the population better.
That sow could have seriously injured or killed a wandering child or adult.

    Why should he be charged?
    For discharging within limits??
    Maybe so.

The authorities should have been called to deal with it.

IMO the MNR is to blame for letting bear populations skyrocket and then doing nothing about it. They have let things go so long with no action people are tired of living with them in town and take matters in to their own hands, imagine what would have happened if a kid ran in to momma bear and she took it as a threat.
