Default Windy rainny day buck

Well I decided to give it a try this morning , forecast said it would stop raining at 6:40 and it did, wind 25 km and gusting.
Got to my blind around 6 am . I am looking out into a cut soybean field , at 7 am I see a deer 125 yards out , its a Buck but I can't tell how many points it has, because I am looking through the screening and the light was not that good.
It came out of the woods from behind me and up wind.
I watched it for a couple minutes as it walked towards me but staying 100 - 125 yards out.
It was going to be down wind of very soon . I had to make a decision whether or not to take the shot.
It stopped dead in its tracks looking in my direction, then turned around 180 degrees.
I decided its now or never. Having sighted in my Mossberg 500 with the rifled barrel at 50 yards . I aimed for the double lung hit, dead center , not knowing how much it would drop I thought it would be good enough.

Bang and the Buck went down immediately , it started trashing and I said he's done . 30 seconds go by and he gets back up and is wobbling a lot trying to get all fours going , I took another shot it went down again , but I actually missed the second shot , because the deer dropped just as I shot.
Now he is trying to crawl away on his front legs only. So I decide to get out of the blind and run over to him .
He was trashing around trying to get away , so I put another shot high in the neck to put him out for good.
The first shot was high and to the right, I think I must have pulled it in the excitement, as this is my first deer with a gun I was never that confident with a gun.
Anyway here he is a Small body but a large rack 10 pointer going in the freezer tomorrow.

< br>
