    Default Clear vs cloudy/barometer

After near 6 decades on this planet I guess I still haven't learned squat. I keep hearing guys talk about how they just can't wait for a cold clear eve to sit. I have NEVER EVER for 45 yrs of hunting shot a deer(A deer of substance) on one of those. Give me a night with heavy overcast, maybe some fog. I call them "Jack the ripper" nights, I'll more often than not come home with one. Am I missing something? I know why I'm seeing them as the barometer falls. What I don't get is how come all others like the clear cold and I just cannot get that to fly

I think it's more about just cold since deer just don't seem to be moving much in this mild weather. But I'm with ya on the overcast and dropping pressure.

I hunt a transition trail deep in the bush....a clear bright evening gives me an extra 20 minutes in the stand..so I'm often far more successful on those nights... I can see farther and stay longer.
