On our first push of opening day managed to push 3 deer to the sitters and they got a small buck and a doe.
We only pushed in the morning and sat in the afternoon as it was too hot for dogging.
On Thursday afternoon at around 5:00 I saw movement on a ridge about 125 yards and could see it was a big deer but could not tell if it was a buck or doe even though we had one more doe tag left, I did a couple of grunt calls and managed to get the deer coming my way and noticed it was a big buck as he got closer at about 60 yards he stops and is looking right at me and grunts twice but does not move, I really did not have a shot at the vitals but only a clear shot of his neck and I took the shot and down he went, my personal best a 9 ponter.
We are in 53A as well, but no luck yet, lots on the cameras but none in front of our stands... Heading back up tomorrow for the remainder of the season.
