Default Tree stand, ground blind, or stalking?

How long have you been hunting, and where have you had the most success; tree stand, ground blind, or stalking? Thanks for sharing!

Over the past 20 yrs here at the farm, success is about 50/50 between a pop up and my tree stand...no real difference in opportunities. Each has unique pros/cons for my situation.

I used to stalk along the neighbours corn/soya fields with some success, but the area I primarily hunt behind my place the bush is to thick and too hard to traverse thru quietly, see a lot of White Flags

I would say I shoot more deer from the ground. But there is a time and a place for all three ..Dutch

Same here 50 /50 between tree and ground blind with a handful from stalking thrown into the mix. Either way it wont matter unless the wind is in your favor. You may get lucky but play the wind and the chances go up significantly.

no sense trying to stalk a deer really.Their hearing and sense of movement is very acute. Not that its impossible but very difficult for sure. Tree stands require a bit of understanding about shooting on angles . Personally I suck at it so I stay on the ground..

Bow hunting since 1970's. Tree stand is number 1, blinds number 2 and stalking last and the harvest goes in that order also.
Experience is what you gain when you didn't get what you wanted.

I mainly hunt deer this way and in this order
    1.Still hunt
2.Ground hunting (meaning sitting on the ground with back up against a tree)
    3.Ladder stand...
Enjoy the still hunting the most....it may not be the most productive way, but it's the most exciting way....

sitting in a ground blind is boring as hell but gives me the best shot possible. always have turkeys walk out and stop front of me while deer hunting and vice versa.
sitting in the thick stuff sometimes gives me a good chance too. had a nice doe stop to smell the roses while waterfowling.
stalking is where i've been in front of the most deer, where i made cardinal mistakes and blew it multiple times. i think with the snow starting to fall, i might switch up my game from ground blind to ghillie suit and stalk.

havent hunted from a tree stand.

I find that I see way more deer while hunting out of a tree stand. Still hunt is more exciting for sure. Either way the make sure the wind is your friend.
