I just picked up an Ameristep G2 from Lebaron and will give it a try during the rest of the deer season. The instructions say to apply seam sealer to the seams to waterproof it, so that should tell you something. Also, I noticed that there are several spots where I could see some light coming in through tiny holes that appear to be the result of various pieces of fabric being stitched to the main shell material.
Anyways, even if it is not completely waterproof, it is better than my other options, which involve sitting completely exposed to the rain in waterproof clothing.

You've waited a long time for an answer. Yes my Ameristep Doghouse is waterproof. Remember there is no floor in it.

Run some silicone along the inside of the seams. Makes them waterproof for years !
