So it seems that the synthetic lure worked well for you. Or at least in conjunction with the decoy anyway. That's good to know. I'm curious as to how he came in. Was he hesitant or all Gung ho?
Congrats again. Cheers
He was in full rut, watch him the night before walking the same edge shaking is head up and down checking the doe trails and rubbing 12 14" pine tree , he did not show up till the last 10mln of shooting time as I was getting worry I saw a back form moving true the slash no head so I give my best doe in heat call and snap up came the head with those long tines facing me and looking strait at me and bingo the decoy in between got him moving forward then around a cluster of tree for that perfect side lung shoot after the smoke cleared I know he ran right back in the thick stuff so I pack my stuff left the decoy out and came back in the morning with a friend , with no sing of blood we circle around the back of his bedding area to find him dead in is track the hornady took both lungs ,two set of eye work way better in that slash transition shissst, like to point out he ran full speed true the thick stuff had one branch embedded right in is eye (one on pic)and one on the front of is nose as well I did find is face very grey and small is body as no fat left inside ( two month rutting) but still very large so there u have it ,just a great deer to harvest 👍
