FisherMcann doesn't believe anything unless it is something personally stated by him or another Liberal. If Ontario Liberals told him the to give over every penny he had he would.

Bring back gun registry: OPP deputy commissioner
A deputy commissioner of the OPP is applauding Quebec’s plan for a provincial firearms registry and says Ontario – or the federal government – should consider following suit.

OK, where are the facts that show they are starting up the LGR again. None? Argument-discussion over.

Liberals want "other" people to give their money. Like Wynne's pension plan where PS don't contribute to it but get the jobs and raises and pensions from the money raised.

Congratulations on reposting the article we've already discussed at length.

It's amazing how people think the government works. You realize that to do these things, they need to pass legislation, right? With all the attendant political liabilities, because public opposition to a long gun registry is all about cost? It's not about who does it. It's about spending money on it.

The CPC under Harper was able to abolish the LGR without political cost because they had successfully branded the LGR, outside Quebec, as a massive waste of public funds. This is why no-one outside Quebec will commit to bringing it back. And nobody is going to get away with it by giving the money to someone else.

Ontario urged the former Harper government to retain Canada’s long-gun registry, she noted.

remember this is the government that signed a pledge to not raise taxes during a campaign.
The fact that politicians lie doesn't mean they'll do the things you fear. Harper's "hidden agenda" never came to pass, in spite of his past statements, in spite of his record of untruths, because he was a pragmatist above all. And the Liberals have always been a pragmatic party -- that's why they've been so good at keeping power.

We tend to ascribe our motives to others. Ideologically driven people believe their political opponents are ideologically driven. This is why so many gun owners believe in a hidden agenda of complete disarmament, and are unwilling to accept the alternative: that the Liberals don't actually care that much about guns. What the Liberals really care about is keeping power. Just as Harper distanced his party from his back-bench pro-death-penalty, anti-abortion ideologues, Trudeau is not going to pay political penalties to push through someone's gun control agenda. So there is no reason to think there is a nefarious secret plan to bring in a registry disguised as something else.

Read the thread title. Why when you cannot prove such a thing, and quotes actually disprove it , you insist on going off on other tangents? There are other threads for your rhetoric.

It's the Liberals who claimed hidden agendas. My concern isn't Trudough starting a registry, it's Wynne bringing in some type of revenue tool/tax and using it as a mask to create a needed database to ensure compliance. That would create new PS jobs and that pretty well is how she retains power. The OPP want one and the Libs and OPP are in bed together, one protects the other. I have no doubt whatsoever that some type of government "list" will happen in Ontario before her mandate ends. Most people don't care about guns and those that do are spread too thin in ridings for it to cost her much support. She can "not" talk about it or even deny it but she is anti gun and I don't believe anything she says. Her track record shows I'm not wrong.

Kind of hard to prove things until they happen. Doesn't mean they won't.
Not that the left use rhetoric on guns or climate right? Their "facts" are always right eh? So what is your favorite color of Koolaid again? Red? Are you already back from Paris?

As anyone who has been on a debating team knows, once the other side gets personnel, you have won the argument.
