I'm thinking late migrant. Wounded bird would be recovered eventually we are not talking pheasant here. Tempted to go look into some hollows along lake Erie. With this weather sure there must be a couple left may be the first year in a while you can hunt them till closer.

I get scattered birds south of 401 into December ... I'm sure you'll find birds down by Lake Erie this year if you go looking.

Got a few pheasants too use up tomorrow however think I might just go investigate before the 20th

Definitely not wounded - nor was he after our encounter lol. I'm going to be out this weekend again, probably my last kick at the can for doodles. Going on a big grouse hunt north of Kaladar Friday, took the day off. Probably too far north though for any slow migrants. We're still in the 10 degree area so not surprised they're still around.
