Onion soup mix, red wine and potatoes and carrots from the start. Do it all the time, fabulous.

My wife uses the onion soup mix and a can of mushroom yummy gravy after. Lot of good variables for this I might have to try the tomato one today!

Here's another variation. I use 2 cans of Campbells, "Golden Mushroom" soup with about 1/2 can of water. Onions, potatoes n carrots and let er cook! You don't have to make gravy as the soup will be delicious as is. Gotta try this at least once in your lifetime.
