You never know whose watching Mr. Poacher
After a ragtag deer season bowhunting long days it was great to hear a rifle bark last night at dark; We had a fella from the property directly adjacent to us shoot a deer with rifle less than 90rds from where I was sitting; weve long suspected them of poaching/jacklighting and shooting deer out of season now for sometime. Last night sealed it, and weve got a vehicle, descriptions and land owner identified.
They were quite brazen about the whole affair and chatted excitedly about how big the deer was and his antlers as they picked it up. Hoping something comes out of this BS, frustrating to put in so much time to see/hear something like this happen. Happy hunting in Lanark! Hope they get a visit paid sooner.

No contact directly but saw the whole thing...they've got quite a rep with authorities; MNRF office seems closed in Kemptville until next week. Notified OPP as well.... Not much else you can do without a camera on hand.

Check on the bloodtrail thread he seemed to get a lot of ministry action.

Did you call the TIPS line of the MNR? I have called a couple times and they have returned the call within a couple of hours without fail. Faster is better in terms of gathering evidence obviously, so they may bring someone in to deal with it. But good on you for documenting things etc.

If you saw what happened, you can be a witness in court and a charge could be laid.

Perhaps he is worried about retaliation , as you never know what type of person you are up against . This "poacher" may retaliate against his family.
Best thing to do is as blasted_saber stated , " Call MNR TIPS
1-877-847-7667 "

I have to admit I'd be very nervous making that level of commitment on behalf of the Crown. Most poachers understand the cops need to do their job but that level of citizen involvement would get real personal IMO. Maybe I'm a chicken. :/
