Its pretty simple if you live in a place even in the very near north like Bancroft jobs for your kids are very limited. There is hydro, lumber and service jobs, that,s about it.Go north of that town and the prospects get even thinner.Nobody is saying that you cant be well educated and come from a small northern town, just saying you limit your kids futures to the available local jobs.

There comes a time when you have to push those kids out of the nest so they can learn to fly and make their own lives.

The best place to live is where you ultimately want to be depending on the lifestyle you want to live. Hope everyone is happy with that answer.lol

Cool, I'll live with our limited jobs and you stay away from my fish and wildlife. Hahahahaha. And stop making up stupid laws and regs that we don't need here cause ya'll over fished and hunted there. [emoji2]

I think Trimmer21 had it right but as a Pontypoolian born and raised, I am biased as well. Peterborough is nice but the smaller towns (Millbrook, Pontypool, Cavan, Bethany, etc) are better. Good schools, close to an urban centre when you need groceries, tones of good hunting and fishing opportunities. If I could get the wife on-board and find jobs in our respective fields, I would move back.

As an aside, I know someone who is going to be putting a home up for sale in Pontypool....save a few $$ in fees.
