Starting a hobby farm, we have an orchard with 18 fruit trees, we planted tons of berries, 4800 sq ft garden, meat rabbits, chickens, ducks and a couple quail. We are planning to fence the back acre and put a couple lambs on it for the summer, butcher in the fall.
Not a full farm but everything is done by hand, no tractors or anything like that, just muscle and time, after full time jobs for both my wife and I.

My buddy lives on county rd. #44 Kemptville near the 416 Hwy and has a 16 acre hobby farm. They supply a variety of Ottawa ethnic groups with goat, lamb, eggs ,chickens, pork as well some in season vegetables. It definitely has become a lifestyle for him and his wife and they both hold down full time jobs as well.

I raise wild turkeys, deer, rabbits, grouse, songbirds and numerous fish on my "hobby farm". Not into livestock as I retired early and want to have flexibility to travel now. I guess you could say that my crop is trees. I have over 80 acre woodlot and I have planted over 6,000 trees over the years. I guess you could add acorns from my oaks. When I'm older maybe some chickens….

A 10 x 10 garden growing pot would yield higher profits than a full time farmer growing 200 acres of corn. lol It would count.
