Trump????
This guy isn't losing any ground and looks like he could very well get the nomination. Is there enough anti establishment and anti political correctness sentiment to actually put this guy in the Whitehouse? Once again it seems like there is no good choice. He's a narcissist loose cannon and Clinton is a snake. The world is getting scary. Merkel will likely get the boot over refugees, America could be run by a nut, N.Korea is run by a madman. Canada is run by a doofus hipster. Nuclear proliferation in the middle East is getting really dangerous. Some day somebody is going to hit Israel with a real bomb and hell will be unleashed. And then you have the Leafs....

The days of "PC", it's not my fault because daddy did not hug me enough, or mommy hugged me too much are fast coming to an end.
Lots of hurt feeling to come.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

Just have enough food, guns and ammo so when things fall apart you can hang around awhile - Trump is saying what a lot of people want to hear - people are sick and tired of the politicians who do what they want and pay no attention to the voters that put them in office - this is especially true of the crooks in Washington - the only trouble with Trump people aren't sure if he is really a conservative - he wasn't years ago but claims that now he is - maybe he is just saying that - who knows - the one thing Cruz is a genuine conservative - is and has always been - he's my man - interesting times to say the least

Joe, Cruz is a Canadian LOL!
At a family gathering my brother and I were having a lengthy discussion about Trump. The guy is brilliant with the way he is campaigning and has put American politics on it's ear. His manipulation of the Liberal media is masterful in the sense that they are paying for his campaign. Whenever he feels like his is no longer relevant or things may be turning, he makes an off the cuff remark to stir up the media and CNN spends 3 days talking about and analyzing it. Meanwhile, he gets all of this free publicity and doesn't have to buy adds. He's making a total mockery of them. After what the Liberal media did here in the recent election, it's enjoyable to watch.
As JoePa alluded to Trump is saying what people are thinking but afraid to say. Political Correctness has become the "Thought Police" in the classic George Orwell novel "1984" quietly attacking our right of free speech. Trump is taking "Political Correctness" head on with his outrageous remarks. He's made remarks about Muslims, Mexicans etc. and although many remarks are greatly exaggerated he is attacking the political left, the Liberal media while attracting supporters all in one go. Americans great value the right of free speech which they have seen greatly eroded by the likes of Obama and other left wing politicians.
The Republican Party is broken and greatly fractured as is evident by the number of presidential hopefuls and the way the vote is divided. It has been this way since the G.W. Bush Administration. Trump has been a lightning rod for controversy and media attacks, but he has also become the savior for all of those forgotten voters who gave up because they thought nobody was listening. The Republican Party will have to unite in order to defeat Trump for the Republican Nomination. As part of this, they will have to entice some of his supporters which will entail policy and procedural changes such as a return to free speech and a reduction in political correctness.
If you look at Trump so far, he doesn't have any real platform, he just stands at the microphone and seems to make things up as he goes. However, this is all carefully calculated. The summation of our discussion is we feel that Trump is more interested in defeating Hillary Clinton and fixing the Republican Party than he is in becoming president.
What are your thoughts?

The reality is people are willing to try him because they know it's going to be really bad if they sign up Hillary.
They'd rather take the chance on Trump, hoping that there's a possibility he will be honest and transparent, despite
whether they support his agenda. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't know.

Its Rob Ford all over again, but with nuclear weapons.

picture a jon boat where all the guy sit on the left; you know something is going to happen sooner than later.
now picture someone like Rob Ford or Trump running up and down that little boat.
if these guys don't like the rocking they better move over to the centre!
I guess it is so bad nowadays that a loose cannons cannot do much harm by rocking the boat. If the entire West continues moving farther to the left, we'll all go overboard (port) anyway pretty soon.

My American side of the family and friends explain it this way. Trump tells it like it is and isn't afraid of criticism. The rest of them tell it like they hope it may be to duck anything coming back to stick to them. I'm surprised as anyone, but, there's a real possibility that Trump may be the "real deal" that America sorely needs.
