Default pirana max for ice fishing?

Just wondering if anyone has ever used a portable piranha max fish finder for ice fishing? My hand held unit recently decided to stay on and after some tinkering, break outright!!! what could i do with the portable max to make it better for ice fishing??

    thanks

In the past I used a piranha max 170.

    It worked OK for me.

i've used them without issue. even with the boat style transponder you will still get a good depth reading, which is really all ya need anyways when in a new area.

so i ended up buying and returning the transducer unit for the piranah max!!! the unit was ok to find depth, but i wanted something that would show fish like my marcum troller 2.0. and i have to keep the unit warm as it tended to freeze up and fade away!!!
