Has too much time on their hands
Astro 320 won't stay calibrated
I found myself having to re-calibrate the compass several times a day to get the right direction on the dog. I'm thinking it might have to do with the unit being in my coat pocket close to my walkie-talkie. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I had or have the same problem. I reduced its occurrence enough to not bother me. I rolled the dice and upgraded the collars and handhelds online. Then the simple thing I did, seemed to help the most. I stabilized the handheld unit with a lanyard and strap to the outside of my upland vest. I don't think it has any bearing, but my units are the alpha models.

I think the manual suggests the unit should be calibrated every time it is turned back on. With the long antenna on it is difficult to calibrate. They are little computers , sometimes they have gremlins. I try my very best to keep mine away form my radio, magnets. Maybe try Garmins web site and self help questions. I have not experienced the same problem.
Good luck.
