MPs lobby to ease language rules for immigrants
Several B.C. Liberal MPs say 2014 Conservative changes were too tough
Liberal MPs in ridings with large immigrant populations are lobbying the Trudeau government to relax rules requiring a basic level of English or French proficiency before new Canadians can obtain citizenship.

Well we will be seeing even bigger cultural isolation and ghetoization,

Integration into Canada, being part of Canada etc... nope! they truly don't care about refugees except as votes.

have you noticed our current government is going to drop the language requirement for immigrants!!!!
so, it's not only a change to the election system without public consultation and inviting refugees who likely spread domestic terrorism that will change of future generations, now immigration (which worked quite well for us for a long time).
current immigrants for the most part are well educated or well funded (and sometimes both) who are looking for a prosper and safe future. long story short, since racial tensions are not any longer a problem in the workplace, the very last people who need the federal liberals! other than PS the red socks don't have anyone who will need them (next election will not be an anti-Harper, but possibly and anti-JT).
so, here's the evil master plan on how to stay in business and attract future generations of voters:
ensure to have social, racial and religious problems - unbelievable, but logical.
if you have religious extremists you have an agenda item; side with them and they'll vote you. Isn't JT pursuing exactly that with going to a mosque instead of a church and preferring muslim refugees over others?
no language requirement for immigrants will bring a different kind of immigrants that cannot be employed, need to live in their own communities, will not have any social interactions - resulting in ZERO assimilation over GENERATIONS to come!
Considering where many immigrants are already coming from, many will be visible minorities (until the white population is a minority, which is already the case for many parts of Toronto). So that's an easy on to stay on the agenda and attract voters.
So, what's left is to screw it up with the natives. They are a growing population already and why not trying to tap into that. Just call retaliation reconciliation. And you better don't measure equal. It's not Native vs. White. You can play bands against each other too. The Algonquin land claim is a perfect opportunity for that as well. Wait some time and you'll see someone will get really unhappy. Either way, that will create new generations of voters - and that's all the fed liberals care about.

Ok, so the way I read it is that the radical changes will be to the act that the conservatives brought in; C-24. Before C24 immigrants aged 18-54 had to prove English proficiency, with Bill C24 it changed to 15- 64. By the way "English proficiency" is tested through language testing (submitted with your application) and through the writing of the citizenship test.
Sure, some MPs are saying their costituants want it eliminated but sounds like most likely it will return to the old age range.
By the way "the good ol days" of immigration, (you know the days that brought us hard working immigrants who built this country?) no language requirements.
Just because you don't know how a system works doesn't mean it's not in need of changes.

Yes immigrants need to prove decent English / French skills.. Refugees ?? not so much and we see what happens when new citizens don't have to assimilate into the host country. You end up with no go zones where only certain people are allowed to go ,police included. See how well this is working out in Europe.

I said before that I will welcome anyone into this great country but they need to get with the program and become Canadians. In the meantime we will see what the new liberal changes really mean.

In the old days, immigration was limited to mostly European countries. Yes, people had different nationality and languages, but shared for the most part the same basic values (similar religion).
I live in an neighborhood with lots of Italians. The old generation votes them, because they feel they helped them to get established. However, they get up in age... Any party needs to make sure they have future voters, nothing wrong with that.
The people wanted Harper out and the Liberals positioned themselves to grab the Anti vote. So now it's up to JT, and whoever is behind him, to run this country. Gonna be pretty difficult for anyone to do well.
But what if they are not even try to fix the real issues? Why invest in something you won't be successful with anyway? Why not do what you do best; i.e. campaigning? Not true - who is the first PM in living history to get involved in provincial elections...
I just begin to see a pattern that JT's actions prepare the ground for disparity among future generations. And I believe this is done intentionally to help is party in the long run, but is not a favour to the people and shameful for any government.

Ok. It was your over simplification of an already simplified headline "government is going to drop the language requirement for immigrants!!!!" That I had a hard time with. I inferred that you were taking the stance that immigrants already have an easy enough time getting in and JT is making the situation worse; this may not have been your intent. However, having attended my wife's citizenship ceremony just last week ( ) and having seen and been part of her application process I can assure you there a number of "language requirements" that can be done away with or modified to make the process easier for candidates who are very qualified and entitled to take the citizenship oath.

My was the reaction to your Trumpism
