Lake Simcoe perch boat rental?
Hey guys...question for anyone with local/Cook's bay intel.
I used to have a fishing boat, but for a host of reasons...don't anymore. For the most part, I'm OK with that...plenty busy with work/family commitments and shooting/hunting a fair bit when time allows. However, the only fishing I REALLY miss with it is panfish. Perch, crappie mostly. Most of the times I did that..I was within 100 yards or shore, so I've been tempted to get a kayak (and may still) but I'm wondering if anyone knows anybody who rents small aluminum boats privately? Provided it's in a perchy-stretch of shoreline...might not even need a motor! The idea arrangement would be someone I could call when the mood strikes, ask if they're using it for the afternoon, then drive up...pay them cash, and be on my way. Maybe bring a friend, or one of my kids.
I'd be open to sharing gas/buying (non-alcoholic) drinks & snacks if anyone would like company in their boat from time to time, but as charming as I am
I'm not going to assume anyone wants to be part of that arrangement.
Anyhow, just thought I'd ask. A very small amount of ice fishing this winter has kind of re-kindled the urge to bust-out the light spinning gear.
Cheers,
GW
btw~I figured this forum was the best place to ask, because back when I was prowling the shoreline of Cooks Bay in my own boat...I'd see allot of overturned tin boats on peoples lawns (Simcoe/Scugog, too) that looked like they hadn't been moved in years. Maybe someone here knows somebody...
