It's the Most Wonderful... Tie... of The Year
With ice-out just around the corner, I'm itching to hit a few streams for some lovely trout. I'm sure we all are. Personally, I'm a dry fly kind of guy. For me, there is nothing better than seeing a trout breach and take one off the top. Having that said, those days are a little further off as far as the hatch goes. So what's your plan in the meantime? Swinging streamers? Nymphing? I'm always interested to hear the techniques of others, and strategies for early spring. Or maybe you have a pattern you'd like to share? Here are two of my favourite. It's a black fly in a Size 16, and a mosquito pattern in a sz 14.

I like to fish nymph, streamer, and crustacean patterns for trout until I see some hatches.
