When to start spring bear bait site
So looks like I have about 250 acres in WMU 50 (NE of Huntsville) that I can hunt this spring. How soon should the baiting begin. I am planning to go up next weekend and scout and if it is reasonable to establish a few baits. Is this to early to begin baiting?
Thanks.
The wilderness is not a stadium where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, it is the cathedral where I worship.

You can start anytime now if you want as long as the majority of snow has left the bush. I don't know about the Huntsville area and how it is for numbers of bears but in this area you really don't have to start early because there's so many bears to be had.
The biggest concern about starting now is time, cost of travel back and forth and how much bait you have access to.

I will be just east of Bracebridge and I will start April 16th and will get my first hunt on the weekend of May 7 and 8 and hopefully get my bear before the bugs get miserable. LOL
