Black Powder Goodies from the Gun Show
The Grenville Sports and Gun show was pretty good this year, I picked up a few great deals for my Black Powder shooting this summer.
Two x20 packages of T.C. MaxiHunters ...x10-275 gr and x10-350 gr for = $10
Nine lbs of lead for the making bullets= $10
Two 1lb Cans of 3f Black Powder = $20
NO HST !!!

I've never heard of this Austin "Black Rifle Powder". It's from Cleveland Ohio, but very little info on line about it. It's older powder, but the cans were well sealed, so it dry and looks great.
Anyway, the powder and bullets alone will make a great couple of days on the range with the .50 cal for less than $20.
I'll use the lead to make x125 500gr conical bullets ($0.08 ea) for the .58 Musketoon.
Well worth the trip and got to see a few of the forum members.

I probably did, but didn't notice the Sign behind the table. I don't often stop at the 'business' type tables unless something catches my eye.
Yes it'll be interesting to compare the difference in time displacement between the 3F Black Powder and the Pyrodex.

Dang, I was looking for FFFg, I guess when you work it you miss out on the deals.
I did get some 303 Brit for plinking, under $1 a shot, so not great but not horrible either.

That guy was not a fan of me, apparently you are not to discuss price at a gun show, ha ha ha.
I got just under 70 303 mixed from 2 tables combined, some Browning, some PPU and some military surplus, I spent $65 for them and they will get used up in a hurry, ha ha, I just have to make sure I clean up after shooting that cordite stuff.
Any idea how old that BP is? I mentioned you finding the stuff to a friend and he ask about age, as you know storage is particular for BP.
Enjoy, with that new gun I may be able to hear you shooting from my house, ha ha.

Black powder has a VERY VERY long shelf life, I think the Chinese are still using some of the original batch
As long as it is stored dry it lasts forever. It took a pair of pliers to open the lids and it's bone dry inside both cans. So I'm confidant that it will perform as good as the day it was packaged.
The guy who sold me the Musketoon gun is coming out in a few weeks....so I'll may hold off the inaugural 'load & shoot' till he can witness it. He never fired it, so it will be his first time to enjoy seeing it make smoke.

I saw one can of powder that was on my list but the seal was cracked, no idea what was taken out of it or not and the asking price was too close to new to bother discussing. I think I need to get to stittsville or Gunco and get some powder.
