Woodcock on eggs already!!!
We had the britt out to the woods today. 5 points on woodcock including one that she literally put her nose on. It flushed off a nest containing 4 eggs.
We normally bush until turkey season starts, but this concludes our spring bushing for this year.
A bad day hunting is still better than a good day at work!

Thanks for the heads up. Wouldn't expect them this early especially with the snow we just had. Here's for a good early hatch a strong birds for the fall.

Chipmunks came out from their holes to day. The JRT is so happy.

I've heard nest sightings for almost a month now. We haven't been in the woods since before St Patty's

My neighbor has already trapped and transported 11 of them 4 weeks ago during the previous mild spell.
And on another note, my wife and I saw a goose with goslings trailing behind yesterday .

What's your address, the little buggers have destroyed hundreds of dollars of my tulip bulbs over the years by burrowing under and chewing off the bottoms of the bulbs.
I also trap and transfer I km away to the bush up the road [ 4 already], they are cute , but also destructive in the flower gardens.

Very true; I've given up on tulips. Even covered in wire mesh , the squirrels get to the bulbs. Daffodils are untouched.
