2000 Princecraft 164?

Hi All,
I have the opportunity to buy a used 2000 princecraft 164 with 80 hp 4 stroke Yamaha, no trolling motor or fish finder. Anyone outhere that could tell me how good of a boat it is? Also, what kind of money do you think it worth?

I can't tell you a price but Princecraft are some of the best boats on the market. I had one that was 25 years old and didn't leak a bit. I bought a new one in 1999 and still a great boat with no leaks or major issues with it. Quality is up with lund.

I agree with Outcast. If motor is also a 2000, then $6K if the boat is really beat up.

$10K if it is in good shape and comes with a trailer. I would expect they will be asking $11K, but you can beat them down :-)

I'm going to look at it tonight so I will have more details.
It comes with a trailer and the engine and boat are 2000.
Asking 10.000$ for it and 1.500$ extra for a 2015 Terrova 80lbs i pilot.

Would you guys buy a boat without trying it?
I'm asking because fishing boat are going so fast right now that if you want one you pretty mush have to send a deposit before even seen it! Must good fishing boat are sold in less the a day on Kijiji....

I have the same boat with an older 80hp merc. Its a great boat no real complaints, its a good fish and ski/utility boat. The speedo can be intermittent but not very important.

It would be good if the seller could at least run the motor with water muffs. The motor is always the biggest concern. If it starts good from a cold start, idles good, goes forward and reverse and restarts again on the driveway it should be ok.

If you can water test it I suggest you do it, simple question to ask the seller : do you mind if my mechanic looks at the motor. Fell him out with how and what his answer is. water testing is always better cause you now how the motor runs under load, once started look for excessive shaking and if the transom flexes. If no water test do what Quack suggests and maybe bring a compression quage with you. Water test will also revel if the boat leaks and live well pump works.

This is what my mechanic told me last night. Since I called the seller and he told me I can try it in the river.
Feeling much better about the deal....

I agree. There are lots of boat for sale, there is no reason to rush into one.
