I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

Had a similar experience with my old lab while out fishing with the boy years ago. We were working a weedbed, dog gets excited. Jumps off the boat, heads for the shore. Hear some thrashing, out she comes with a molting greenwing teal. Makes the perfect retrieve to hand. Take the duck, look if over, and live release it. That duck was very unhappy, so was the dog.

My wife just got a new dog a Shollie I guess they call it. It's 6 weeks old now and has taken up the sport of catching birds. So far it has 12. I guess it's thinks she's a cat.

LOL fortunately we don't have to worry about that, although I have a big rat running around. If the JRT doesn't get him soon , he won't be eating.
