Has too much time on their hands
Nipissing June 1 to 5
Went up for a few days with brother Pete and buddy Jamie. It was a good trip and we found walleye everywhere. Was seeing Mayflies which to me seemed early.
Wind wasn't great and really could only fish mornings on the big lake for walleye. We did get one day where we also got the afternoon out there. That day the walleye count was 149.
For the trip we managed 313 walleye and some pike. 15 of those walleye were over the mark with several being 20 to 26.5 inches.
Great to see the MNR out there as well.
Linda and Henning from PLC were great hosts as usual.
On a side note, I hooked a lot of garbage on the lake which included a fishing rod and reel, anchor with 50' rope, and tonnes of busted line.

Wow, that sounds like a great trip. I've never fished Nip before but keep hearing about the destruction of the fishery. Then I hear about trips like yours, although I'm sure it has taken a beating, nice to hear that the the human and eye efforts seem to be keeping the stocks reasonably good. Or is what you saw a decrease over what you recall from years past?
Heeere fishy fishy fishy fishy! :fish:

Thanks good luck to you as well Big M
Rugger- the numbers are as good or better than other years. The average fish size is bigger!
I caught walleye everywhere. We each kept one over and the rest went back.
