    2102 Grief Mid summer splake

We have a few splake lakes around which produce in the winter, but is there any way to catch them during the warmer weather? Tried worms and spinners, silver or blue spoons, but no luck.
Are they in shallow, shoals (speckle country)or down where we would find lakers?

I've caught them on 5 colour lead core with a worm harness before. Rainbows too. That was in august.

I fish Bancroft in the summer some times(buddies place) and we sight fish for them in the early mornings in the shallows . Lipless crank baits work for us.

I take it that lead core means deep, while shallow sight fishing means just that.....Story of my efforts.

A 5 colour lead core would run about 25ft down. 5 ft per colour.

3/8 oz keel weight and about 60 ft of line with a lake troll behind that tipped with a rapala or minnow is how I have caught them in the past.
