The MNRF allow outfitters to sell tags to clients so selling moose meat in stores is much the same.

I agree but I am just asking if a non-Native can legally go purchase it - that is all. Not saying I am buying it but there is obviously a market for it.

fratri - I don't know this is the first time I have seen it so this is the reason I am asking. It must be legal or the MNRF would be all over it.

Maybe fine while on the reservation..but once your back into Ont, you will be in possession of 'wild' meat. If it was gifted to you, you don't have to register it but in this case you purchased it.
I wonder if that contravenes any MNRF laws ?

You can buy moose meat ( especially stew) in many restaurants in Newfoundland.
