Has too much time on their hands
Canada's Golden Girl
Not sure if anyone is following this young lady but....
http://news.nationalpost.com/sports/...lympic-history
We have our first Olympic swimming gold since 1984 (plus a shared Olympic record). Penny Oleksiak. 16 years old. 4 medals so far and a possible fifth tonight. Well done Miss Oleksiak! If she isn't considered as the flag bearer for the closing ceremonies, I think that would be a disgrace. I would imagine if she didn't have athletic scholarships to US schools before the games, she will more than likely have a few now.

Canadian Olympic Summer Games teams traditionally don't do well in the medal count. This young lady is doing Canada PROUD.

She is an amazing athlete and we should all be proud of her! During interviews she is so calm and mature. Her big talent is the final push for her races. When one interviewer asked her why she was so good at this, she replied that she had been practicing this since she was 10.

Has too much time on their hands
My wife and I stayed up to watch the swim last night. We also stayed up and watched the replay. You could see her get stronger (her kicks and her stroke speed) after she turned the wall but still to come back from 7th against that strong of a field (this was the medal heat not a qualifier) is what makes this swim really remarkable. She was competing against women who have way more experience and training than she does (I believe the closest competitor was 19 years old). She paced them the first 50m and then crushed them in the last. Well done!

I heard Sophie Trudeau has already written a song and play about Miss Oleksiak and will also be playing the acting role when the movie goes into production. Can't wait !
Seriously she is an incredible athlete with many more Olympics ahead of her ! Miss Oleksiak that is.

I can't seem to get interested in any of the Olympic events this time around although I've found time to watch women's beach volleyball.
But great to see this young gal cleaning up. It won't be long before Trudope will be doing a shirtless selfie with her.

We were off to a slow start, but they're trickling in now.
I believe all of the Canadian medals are to women athletes so far. The boys better pull up their socks
