Examples of "eastern" wolves

Someone brought up Michigan wolves... I've come across some of the debate in Mich, Wisconsin, Minnisota and even Nortehrn Ill. where the wolf is now becoming a a nuisance again due to the protection afforded to them by the US govt since the 70s. It's interesting to note that wolf images I've seen from those states, either shot, killed by cars or caught on cams look a LOT more like "grey" wolves of N. Ontario. Just google an image of an Upper Peninsula wolf, or Minnesota wolf.. even though latitudinally they are about the same as central Ontario, the wolves do in fact look more like the big northern wolves of our province. They seem to have very little if any of the coy-wolf physical characteristics...

Mike obviously you haven't read the response by the OFBM. They to question the um curious and obvious timing of the name change and more. In black and white they call a spade a spade. Outright call into question the MNR motivation.

For some-one who doesn't trust them or the middle with respect to the future of hunting. You sure seem to arguing their "word" as gospel in this case. Make up your mind? You can't have it "both ways" Are you saying they've never misled the public, or been wrong. Well two words.

Would agree Splaker, but even if it's a hybrid as someone in the vid thinks. Sure puts the "mutts" we have here to shame. And would also agree with the trapper, that's a big beautiful animal.

Glen, by your post count I see your fairly new here. So am going to make an assumption. If it's wrong, my apologies.

This topic has been the subject of much debate, going back many years. There are those who will argue it started back in the 70s, there are those who will argue the MNR listened to faulty science produced by the Theberges, and compounded, or created problems to begin with.

The "wolves" we have here, have gone by many names, for many years. Eastern Wolves, Bush Wolves, Coy dogs. As of a few weeks ago, the Algonquin Wolf. The reason for that is obvious, and has to do with research out of Princeton University and heart strings.

To quote Shakespeare. A rose by any other name is still a rose. Or in this case cross bred "mutts".

i have a very good image of one these things. I promised someone Id never show it and it hasn't seen the light of day. But there are millions of pictures of Ontario's Coyotes out there. Here's an old thread and old images of Wolves from Alqonquin instead.
