    Default Catching creek chubs ????

Tried all day to catch a creek chub and couldn't. WTF. I remember trout fishing and that's all I'd catch. Maybe the fall is different ??

Tried Heber down. Duffins north end. Pigeon river near fleetwood road. Lake Ontario in Oshawa near the peer. Bowmanville creek.

    I'm at a loss here.

Used to catch them under the bridge where Jackmans Rd crosses Bowmanville creek. That was before Vanstones dam washed out and let the rainbows up....back about 1955

I just don't understand ! LOL. I tried wilmot yesterday and all I could catch is trout.

I remember I use to go trout fishing and only catch creek chubs.

Water chemistry changes and can bring about a corresponding change in species in that system over time.

Went chub fishing today boy it was fun...I never even considered it till i read your post, moody little fish arnt they! I found that you had to cast right to them, they didn't want to leave cover...Dont know if it was your experience or not but i found they really didn't like stale bait.

Bowmanville dump used to be just upstream of the bridge over Bowmanville creek. Now it's all parkland but back then we found lots of targets for our bows and BB guns...Anyone could drive in and dump anything anytime....

Had the same problem in the spring when I was looking for catfish bait. Found the upper reaches full of trout. Had to move a ways downstream to slower warmer water. Guess water quality is improving in the streams.
