Slept In
I_00005a.jpgI_00008c.jpgI_00009c.jpg
I haven't been very active bow hunting this year, but decided to hit my blind this morning. After a terrible night's sleep, I got lazy and decided not to go.
The camera in front of my blind got a bit of action. A doe and fawn are seen passing through from 9:18-9:20. Next comes a little buck at 9:26, and, unless my eyes deceive me, another little buck (with slightly taller rack) at 9:32 following them. These might be the same buck but zooming in close (have triples of both bucks) the racks look different enough that I'm going to call them different.
My property is pretty slow for deer as I hear a fair few gunshots after dark or coming from properties where hunting isn't permitted, so 4 deer in front of my blind in daylight is certainly rare. I would have passed on all of them, but would have been a great hunt nonetheless.
Both little guys followed in sequence shortly after the doe! The rut is coming!!

Here's your 'live action update' from the blind beside the trail cam.
It is 9:30 (same time) the next day and I've seen zero deer. If that isn't impolite I don’t know what is. Someone had better get these deer some manners. Or at least a watch!
