2016 whitetail rut
Hello, wanted to start a thread to hear from others on the rut status in your area. So far not much action around me. Bucks still in groups, does with fawns. Watched a 2 year old buck eating with the does the other evening and the buck was trying to chase them off. Should start soon though.

It will start same time as last year and the year before that.
Same time every year.

Yes, it starts same time roughly every year. But activity isn't always the same.

Only night bucks here so far but the does have moved from all hours of the day and night to more night time and fringe, things may be changing.

I rattled antlers at around 5:00pm Saturday afternoon, and a 2 year old buck walked straight in to about 20 yards of my tree stand and I shot him with my crossbow once he turned broadside.

Not much going on in my area. Swamps very dry, Think any movement may be back and forth to water. old243
