    Default Cutting dovetails for sights

200 years ago a gunsmith would use files and chisels to do this work. Today, most dovetails are cut using a milling machine which I do not have, so-o-o-o-o, a hacksaw, files and a boat load of patience and concentration is what I use. I'll post another pic when done..........Daniel146_3742.jpg146_3744.jpg146_3745.jpg

Those are still the first tools you will handle when learning to machine, still just as important a skill today as they ever were when it comes to metalwork.

    Nice pictures.
