It seemed like a legit question to me. Why the non-answer?

Ooops,my bad. I missed the short answer. I have a stock carrying pouch with velcro straps on my back pack. I slip the cover over the rifle and strap it in down the center of the pack for perfect balance for long treks out in the dark,all hands free. I never thought of button holes. That's an excellent idea.
