Ask a CO: Are modified gun socks legal?
A reader asks a CO if it is legal to modify gun socks to carry guns easier outside of legal shooting hours.

It seemed like a legit question to me. Why the non-answer?
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

No problem with his answer. I did the same with my cloth case. I made it so the sling studs stick out.

Ooops,my bad. I missed the short answer. I have a stock carrying pouch with velcro straps on my back pack. I slip the cover over the rifle and strap it in down the center of the pack for perfect balance for long treks out in the dark,all hands free. I never thought of button holes. That's an excellent idea.
